WRC Meeting Minutes
January 5, 2025
1. The meeting was opened at 10:00 am by Kevin Foley, President with the
reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
2. Tom Goss, Treasurer was not present but had texted the check book
balances to the Secretary. Opening balance was $4,138.78. Income was
$451.64. Expenses (field rent) was $1300.00. Closing balance is $3,290.37.
3. Roy Piece, Secretary reported that there are 21 members paid so far for
2025. He was told that there were 6 checks there for members paying for
2025 memberships.
4. Roy mentioned that he will send out individual requests for members who
have not paid their dues February 1 st .
5. It was asked if we are able to see if our paid members have paid their AMA
dues. I told them that I keep a close eye on the AMA membership roster as
to whether or not AMA memberships are also paid.
6. It was brought up that we need a volunteer to take over our Facebook page
and keep it up to date. Possibly also add other social media programs to
our roster. Last year I knew that one new member was added due to photos
being placed on our Facebook page.
7. Fred Foster mentioned that he is still planning on the club purchasing clay
to cover the auto racetrack in the spring. When completed this would-be
good advertising to add to the Facebook page.
8. Fred also mentioned that we have to spread Grubex on the grass in the
spring. The grubs and the pursuing skunks made a mess of large sections
of the grass surrounding the landing strip.
9. Discussion followed about possible hiring a professional company to
handle this. However, the cost was the concern. It was decided.
that we would do it ourselves this year and see how it worked out.
10. Max Rothemund brought up indoor flying. He asked me to send out an
email to see who might be interested and at what times they might want to
participate.
11. It was decided that there will be a spring barbeque, a summer Fun Fly, and
a September VA flying event.
12. At 11:15 am the meeting was adjourned.
