Monthly Meeting Notes

1. The meeting open at 10:00 AM.
2. There were 13 Members in attendance including the 4 officers.
3. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited to the flag.
4. We welcomed our newest junior member Landon McLane.
5. Treasurer Tom Goss reported that at the last meeting the club’s money was
$4,358.89. During the month expenses were $90.40. Income was $309.00
leaving a total of $4,577.49 at present.
6. The Secretary reported that he had dropped 6 people from the club’s
membership rolls. They had neither paid our dues or paid their AMA dues.
This presently leaves us with 49 paid members.
7. Jay Massie reported on the racetrack moving progress. The old racetrack
has been grassed over and the brush that was placed in the woods has
been removed and piled up in the field. Both of these tasks were asked to
be completed before we would be given permission to move the track to
the new location.
8. Jay was now going to email the Fairgrounds Directors for a meeting with
them to go over the new location.
9. Jay suggested that because it is so late in the year that if given permission
to move the track, that we only cut the grass really short and race on that
for this year. Next year we can add material on top of the grass and actually
have a raised track. A raised track could alleviate future drainage problems.
10. Jay also brought up that if we want to have sanctioned events and bring
people from other areas that we would need to buy a generator and a lap
computer. We could also charge race fees for these events to help pay for
these expenses.
11. The Skunk problem was raised. Kevin Foley (President) said that he had
spread Fox Urine that he had purchased from Amazon around the runway
earlier this summer. Fred Foster (Field Manager) said that he had not seen
any turf torn up around the runway. All agreed that the problem may have
been solved and nobody has to trap and remove any skunks.
12. With no more business to discuss the meeting was properly adjourned at
10:25 AM.
